HTTP port problem---Help
« on: March 29, 2013, 03:58:07 PM »

Maybe I'm stupid so I hope there is someone who can help ..
I have 5 DCS 2121 running wireless and has for two years been running fine.
Now there's a camera that is broken and I have therefore purchased a DCS 2230
I use HTTP port from 800 to 805 without any problems. But when I try to configure the DCS 2230 it can not be done. A message  says that I can only use the default HTTP port number 80 etc and I can not write 803 in the field
Can anyone tell me why I can not configure DCS2230 to HTTP 803 when this could be done with DCS 2121.
Thanks

Don't you get the error message?

Follow instructions. It can't be done.

The HTTP port must be 80, or between(include) 1024 and 65535.

Why must you use 805?   Why can't you open up a port between 1024 and 65535?   Is this an ISP requirement?

Have you tried SSL?

Yes it is our provider. We canīt use port 80 or the orthers. I canīt understand why dcs2230 can nor be set to port 805 when dcs 2121 can. There must be a workaround.

Her is a screen shot from the dcs 2121 manual:

If port 80 is not available (for example, if you are already using port 80 to run a Web server or
your ISP blocks access on port 80*) you MUST open a second port and designate a new Web
server port (800, 801, 802, etc.). Similarly, if port 554 is not available, you will need to open a
different port for RTSP.

Note: Be sure to take note of these settings since these same settings will be used to configure
your router.

Thanks

The 2121 is a home solution cam.

The 2230 is a business cam.

I don't know why the restriction either.

You might want to put this request in the 2230 firmware request list.  But I wouldn't expect resolution anytime soon.

Maybe it is blocked so it doesn't end up on mydlink.com, since it's not an L camera.

I've been thinking about this...

Do you have port forwarding in your router?

Why can't you send your 805 port to a different # on the 2230?

This is my setup with 2132l, 5222l, and 2230.
