Title: DGS-1210-24 & 1210-48 Restores itself to factory default config
Post by: jnascecsi on October 06, 2011, 08:33:49 AM
We have a issue with 2 brand new dgs-1210-24 & dgs-1210-48 switches. We are seeing that everytime we run our internal security audits using nessus vulnerbility scanner that the switches will restore themselves back to the factory defaults when running our PCI Compliance scans. We are currently using firmware version 2.00.011 and smartconsole utility reports Protocol version 2.001.004.

We have other dlink switches in our data center that do not have this issue it seems to only be the new dgs-1210 versions running fw 2.00.011 like i mentioned. We have been able to replicate this issue everytime we run scans on a weekly basis on these 2 switches since we got them a couple months ago. It never fails we config the switches make a backup then once we run our weekly scans POOF they go back to the defaults.

DLINK Support are there any others complaining about this? I will mention that we do not have this issue with the following other switches DGS-1224T,DGS-1248T,DES-1252.

I am having a similar issue with dgs-1210. When i modify 802.1q settings the devices crashes and either resets to factory and comes back up or freezes completely and i have to power cycle to get it to respond again.

Very dissappointed in the quality especially after convincing my employer this was the device we needed and we havent even been able to use one! :(
