Firmware Upgrading Issues, etc. with this new router (DIR-813)

First off, upgrading firmware on this router from the default v2.08 B1 (11/04/15) to the most recent v2.08 B2 (12/01/15) is simply not working. I've tried countless times while directly connected to my laptop via Ethernet.

Secondly, any setting that I change (such as the channel for example) requires that the router be restarted, which is fine. But the router is not connecting to the internet automatically (maybe an issue re-obtaining the IP address? idk) after rebooting which requires that I hard-reset the router.

Overall pretty frustrated right now and I would love if anyone knew how to solve these problems I'm having.

Thanks a lot! Have a good day.

What region are you located?
I'm from New York.

Was a Factory Reset performed before and after any firmware updates then set up from scratch?
I'm currently unable to perform a firmware upgrade.

Was the router working before any firmware updates?
I cannot perform a firmware upgrade. Not sure why.

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
Cable: Time Warner Cable (Spectrum) 60.0MegaBits down, 6.0MegaBits up.

What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?
Not sure off the top of my head. I don't have access to that information at the moment. I do know that directly hooking up to my modem via Ethernet gives me the constant 60 Mbits down and 6 Mbits up promised by Timer Warner Cable.

FurryNutz:
What browser are you using when your doing the FW update?
Did you download the FW update file, unpack the file then manually update using the routers web page?

I'm using Chrome. Yes, I unzipped the the firmware file (DIR-813_B1_FW208WWB02.bin) and connect via Ethernet each time I try upgrading.
