Bridge not working
« on: February 18, 2012, 09:14:47 PM »

Have ran a bridge between my 1522 and a DIR-615 for over a year (got both for Christmas in 2010). The 615 is connected to the cable modem upstairs and the 1522 is connected to a WD Live downstairs, for watching Netflix and Hulu on the TV.

Recently, the connection has been really shaky. I tested with a netbook connected directly to the 1522. When I pinged the 615 upstairs with 1024 packets, it responded with 1500-2000ms. When I disconnected the 1522 and used direct wireless (not moving the netbook), I got 1-3ms.

We upgraded to the recent firmware with no resolve.

Any other thoughts?

What wireless modes are you using?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/Auto TPIK and AES.

Any other WiFi routers in the area? Use InSSIDer to find out.
Turn off Short GI, WLAN Partiton and Extra Wireless Protection if you have it. Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.
