Due to inability to source a DLINK 2670 camera, I am testing out some Arlo Pro cams. IMO, DLINK makes a superior product as far as motion and IR etc. -- vastly superior. But that's comparing it with DLINK's indoor cams. I am contemplating sticking with the Arlo's due to their portability but the night vision is lacking. I tried an off brand IR illuminator capable of over 200 feet but it only had a 15 degree angle and was like a spotlight. Terrible and useless. I then took my DINK 2630 outside and used its IR as illumination and holy cow the Arlo cams were in color at night. Thus, I want to get an IR illuminator of similar capability as the DLINK 2630's. Too much would be overkill and bounce off walls around my home. The manual shows it has 16 feet IR illumination distance. Something that can go say 25 feet with a 90 degree angle would be great. I want the IR to illminate partially over a wall and also coexist with a standard incadescent light which must be on at night.
Is there any such thing with the specs I desire? Maybe you are using one like that? Thanks in advance.

What is the nm of the IR you bought? I bought an 850nm I believe from b&h which had 40 or 60 degree options available and 100 feet? It was around $70?
Does the ir help the extend the 2630l?
You could always try putting some black electrical tape over top? Hopefully the IR ruNS cool and won't melt.

Hi RYATT, above is the spec sheet. I bought the AIR250 but as I said its the wrong spec for me. I could see how this model would work down a really long drive way but what I need is to illuminate a close by area with something more like a floodlight. Don't want to use tape.
BTW I did not use the IR illuminator with my 2630. Sorry for the confusion, I used the 2630 as the IR illuminator for an Arlo Pro -- and it helped more so than the AIR250. Therefore, I think something lower spec than the AIR250 is more appropriate for my needs. In other words, less powerful is better. But I don't know which brand or spec to buy.

It's 850NM. There are other IRs that are 950NM I believe. They may or may not be truth to other wavelengths being compatible. I haven't tried.

I picked up a SPECO 60 degree from B&H. I have not officially used it other than to test it.

If you can protect the 2630l from direct moisture, and not near a freezing climate - I'm sure it will last outside for a year or so?

I'm going to guess nothing really comes in less than 25 feet in an external illuminator. If it is still too much, then I'd tape up some of it if it runs cool.
