Last week I installed the DIR-857 with the original (automatic, DHCP, etc) settings.
It is connected to the internet via a Genexis hybrid Live! Titanium modem.
The internet connection is a 50/50Mbs fiber connection.
To test, I connected a Dell XPS-M1530 laptop temporarily direct to the fiber modem: speedtest: 49/48Mbs. So all oké with the modem.
As the DIR-857 connection to the internet was not stable, I upgraded the software from 1.00 to 1.04.
That helped a lot.
The 2.4Ghz wireless of the DIR-857 connected well with my Dell XPS-M1530 and Dell Insprion 15R SE laptops; throughput also oké (~45Mbs).
However, some unsolved problems:
1. I could not get a 2.4Ghz wireless connection up and running with my older Dell D600 lattitude laptop, neither with the Fuijtsu S-series lifebook (which has 802.11g).
Both do not connect while they do with my old DSL Thompson router.
I really need to connect those laptops.
What is wrong with the routers Wifi?
(I fear that mobiles and I-pad won't connect either)
2. The ethernet stays at 10Mbs.
Even with only a 1 meter CAT5e connection to only the Inspiron 15R SE, it stays at 10Mbs.
How do I get this running at 100Mbs?
I'm in The Netherlands.
Thank you already,
Bas
