« on: October 04, 2011, 11:09:48 AM »

You might power off the ISP modem and the router, then bring up the ISP Modem and let it sync with the ISP, then power on the router. You'll need to set up the WiFi again probably if you are using WiFi. Give a new name for the WiFi and change the mode from mixed to Single mode G or Mixed G and N only.

Let us know.

This sounds like the issue I had a weekago. In Setup, Wireless Settings, Manual Internet Connection Setup. Change your 802.11 Mode to Mixed 802.11n and 802.11g. and then Save Settings.
I did this and have not had a issue in a week so far

After resetting to factory setting and restoring my backup, I have this same problem, wired connection is ok, but none of the laptops can connect to router via wireless. 802.11 mode was already set to "Mixed 802.11n, 802.11g and 802.11b", but it still doesn't work. I tried changing it to just "Mixed 802.11n and 802.11g", still no success. From my laptop, it actually shows the router connection available with excellent signal strength, but it's unable to connect.

Link>Wireless Installation Considerations
Ensure the default (dlink) SSID name is changed. Can be anything and not something thats already in use by any neighboring WiFi routers. Under Setup/Wireless/Manual.
Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N?
Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
Try setting a manual channel to a open or unused channel. 1, 6 or 11. 11 for single mode N if the channel is clear.
What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only or Auto.

Any cordless house phones?
Any other WiFi routers in the area? Link> Use InSSIDer to find out. How many?
Try turning off Short GI, WLAN Partition, and Extra Wireless Protection if you have it. Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.
Enable WMM Enable Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.

Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing.

I don't know if I should start another thread on this, but through my own stupidity I may have finally fried the router. I upgraded to firmware 1.25, after its completion, I logged into the web menu through 192.168.0.1, but the page was "blank", with most of the information missing. I tried to click on different tabs but none of them responds, i.e. it's like a page of picture rather than web page. I already tried pressing reset for 30 to 60 seconds, while plugging and unplugging the power supply, but that did not help. Any suggestion? Thanks.

Please follow this for doing any FW upgrades:
FW Update Process
Please use IE or FF only. Do not use Chrome!

Try this to see if you can get FW loaded on it:
Emergency Recovery Mode

If this fails, then you can ask DLink if they will RMA it.

Let us know how it goes.
