Title: DCS-2230 A1 New Firmware v1.20 (for WW)
Post by: wylajb on July 27, 2013, 05:24:11 AM
Yesterday, I loaded the new 1.20 firmware onto my DCS-2230 cameras.

The D-Link USA site (http://www.dlink.com/us/en/business-solutions/ip-surveillance/business-ip-cameras/cube-cameras/dcs-2230-full-hd-wireless-day-night-camera) lists these enhancements:

• Fixed UPnP GPL open source issue
   (memory overflow)
• Remove Guest account
• Enhance codec performance
• Enhance camera throughput
• Change RTSP authentication default
   setting (from Core Security)

The D-Link Taiwan site (http://tsd.dlink.com.tw/) shows these enhancements for 1.20:

New Feature
V1.20.00
1.   Add SNMP function

Problems Fixed
V1.20.00
1.   Remove “guest” account.
2.   RTSP authentication default enable
3.   Fixed the security of UPNP.

So far, I notice that the motion on my cameras is a little bit more smooth.  I'm running in 720p mode with Surveillance Center on the DNS-325.

Also, when viewing the cameras with Firefox and Quicktime, cameras have both video and audio, and the playback starts a lot more quickly compared with the 1.10 firmware.

Thanks.

Sounds like everything still works properly and isn't screwed up.
