Title: Gigabyte network + DNS 323
Post by: skypx on December 30, 2008, 05:08:16 PM
I have been working to get the best transfer speed from the DNS 323 to my vista box, and so far it seems like I'm going in the right direction. If I transfer an ISO from the DNS 323 to my computer the transfer speed goes up to 32MB's. (yes MB's) But I'm only getting 12MB's if I transfer it back to the DNS 323. I've tweaked everything, changed jumbo frames, but I still can't seem to get a better transfer rate to the DNS 323. Here's my setup:

1. Vista 64
2. Gigabyte network (including router, switch and cables)
3. Jumbo packets (9000) enabled on LAN adapter and DNS. (anything less than 9000 slows down transfer from DNS 323 to computer. No effect the other way)

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

writes to the device will always be slower.  to the tune of 5MB/s or so (constant rate, after burst)
