Network external hard disk

My new router is a DIR 625, and i have a hard disk connect to it. Can my dsm 520 acces the hard disk whitout having to turn on my PC ?

If the drive is plugged directly into your router and you can access it via the network, you should be able to play any videos from it on the DSM 520 w/o your computer being involved.

Only if the hard disk also acts as a UPnP-AV server.
