Title: Firmware Update using MacOS
Post by: sturob on February 28, 2012, 09:02:32 AM
Hey there,

My 930L still has the stock 1.00 firmware, and I've noticed finally that there have been a slew of updates.  I have tried, unsuccessfully, to update the firmware (with the device hard-connected, not over wireless).  I am using MacOS 10.7.3.

Am I correct in trying to upload the .bin file?  I wonder why the whole thing just sits there.  I have so far nto bricked the camera, but I am annoyed at my inability to update the firmware.

I have been doing it through the web interface (I've tried Safari and Firefox), chosen the .bin file, and everything just sits there.  I can't tell that it ever gets uploaded.

I may be the odd-man-out trying to do this on a Mac, but hey, looks like there are all kinds of Mac connectivity updates in the firmware so I must not be flying solo.

You should upload the .bin file. If the file is archived (i.e. zipped), then you'll need to extract the .bin file.  Re-download the file to your PC. The file you previously downloaded may be corrupt.
